in Guatemala

​Our work in the town of Chimaltenango is primarily focused on women with limited economic resources who want to improve their future by having greater opportunities. Ninety percent of the project’s students are indigenous from rural areas and have a desire to learn English and get advance in life.

Due to political and economic corruption in Guatemala, many indigenous women do not have access to formal education. Despite chaotic living conditions in many regions, several international companies have established themselves in the country and employ people who provide services in English. We work with women of limited means because they also deserve good employment opportunities with these firms and in turn contribute to the progress of their families and local communities.
